For thirty years, Lakota camped at many places. We wintered near Moose Jaw and ran our horses in the Dirt Hills. Each spring, we travelled to the Pinto Horse Buttes to visit the sacred grounds where relatives were buried and to hunt antelope in the Frenchman River Valley. From there we followed the rivers to the Fort Peck Agency, arriving in time to attend the annual celebrations. The people of Fort Peck often donated horses to us. By July 1st, we were back in Canada to take part in the Wood Mountain Races and Stampede. In the fall, some of us stayed at Wood Mountain, while others returned to Moose Jaw.
