John Heathershaw is from Scenic but makes his home in Rapid City, South Dakota, where he works as a farrier. During the racing season, he finds himself on the road, shoeing horses throughout the Dakotas, Montana and Wyoming.

Leo Tournier ranches in Duck Lake and participates in professional chuck wagon races from spring until fall. When he is on the road racing, he might shoe 120 horses a month.

Kevin Pourier and his wife have been manufacturing buffalo-horn jewellery inlaid with precious stones since 1992. Over the past few years, they have won several National Arts awards for their creations.

Charles Brown grew up in a ranching family near Lytton and began carving in 1991, first in wood and later in soapstone. He is presently marketing his carvings locally and in cities on the West Coast. Two of his buffalo carvings are featured in the first section of this exhibit.
