Brian Ogle

1956 -

    Brian Ogle is the son of Bill and Shirley Ogle, the great-grandson of Hin Hotwein and William Hall Ogle. He grew up on the Ogle ranch at Wood Mountain in the same yard as his grandparents, James and Elizabeth Ogle. They began to tell him stories of the Lakota at a very early age and by the time he was sevn or eight years old his grandmother had made him dancing costumes so he could participate in programs and pow-wows at Wood Mountain,

    As a youth he competed in bull riding, and travelled the CCA rodeo circuit for a few summers. In 1977 he won the event at the Wood Mountain rodeo.
Upon graduating from high school at Wood Mountain he took a technical course in drafting and found employment in Alberta. He presently resides in Calgary.
    Brian has always been artistically talented. In 1990 he designed a logo of a bronc rider for the 100th Anniversary of the Wood Mountain Sports and Stampede.
