Photos & PapersThe image collection of the Canadian Museum of Civilization covers material culture, historical events, traditions, cultural diversity and much more. It holds thousands of historical and contemporary images of Canada's Aboriginal peoples. This impressive repository originally grew out of the dedicated work of Canada's first anthropologists and researchers in the late 19th century. Since that time, the collection has continually expanded and now provides a portrait of this country's history, and, in particular for its First Peoples, a record of continuity and change, of cultural survival and renewal. In this section you will find thousands of photographs taken by different researchers. On this page we highlight only a few photographs from their vast body of work. Make sure that you click on the "View all items in the collection" icon at the bottom of each page in order to view the entire collection for each researchers.
