Description
Challenge your students to explore how sports equipment has
changed
from 1918 to the present.
- In small groups or individually, students must select one of the
following
categories:
- hockey
- baseball
- skiing
- camping
- bicycles
- By consulting the catalogues on this site, they must identify the
equipment
related to their selected category.
- After a reasonable amount of time, they must make a presentation to
the class
about how the sports equipment has changed.
- As a class, discuss the impact of the changes in sports equipment on
both
the user and the sport.
Areas to consider include what equipment was available, how much
variety there
was for each item, materials used, and cost.
