Conflict on the Frontier
This propaganda print plays to American prejudices against Native Americans and the British. It depicts a British officer encouraging Native Americans to commit atrocities by paying warriors for the scalps of American soldiers. The British, in fact, paid a bounty for live prisoners to encourage Native Americans to turn over their captives unharmed.
