Australian artistCraig, Sybil (1901-1989)Craig studied at the National Gallery of Victoria School between 1924 and 1931. Appointed an official war artist in 1945, she chose to stay in Australia to record home-front activities, working at the Commonwealth Ordnance Factory in Maribyrnong, Victoria. She depicted women working at various risky tasks including the making of cordite and detonators. The artwork in this exhibition |
