Australian artistMcClintock, Herbert (1906-1985)McClintock studied at the National Gallery of Victoria School from 1925 to 1927, and in 1929. His early work was non-representational and constructivist; however by the mid-1930s he had adopted a social-realist style. He was employed by the CCC in Sydney in 1940 and then as a camouflage artist. In 1943 he was appointed by the AWC to paint wartime construction activities. The artwork in this exhibition |
