Australian artistCossington Smith, Grace (1892-1984)Smith received a European modernist training from Dattilo Rubbo in Sydney between 1909 and 1912. She then travelled in the United Kingdom and Europe for two years. Her early work was conceived in a post-impressionist manner, but later she developed a Bonnard-like style concentrating on colourful interiors. She is now considered one of the leaders of the avant-garde movement in Australia. The artwork in this exhibition |
