Louis Cyr lived from 1863 to 1912. A native of Saint-Cyprien in Napierville County, he was recognized as the strongest man in the world until he met his match in a man named Décarie in 1906. According to his biographers, Louis Cyr set several records that have never been equalled. He has passed into legend as the strongest man of all time. This statuette shows him in his favourite stance, his arms crossed over his powerful chest, legs spread apart and feet planted firmly on the ground.
