The Green Fishery
reen-fishery vessels
usually had a crew of 12 to 18 men, in addition to the officers.
There were eight to twelve fishermen, a salter, two apprentices,
and one or two boys.

The fishermen stand in barrels, and use studding sails or a
tarred-canvas bulwark to protect themselves from the wind.
