Making Sense Of It All
Archaeologists would be among the first to admit that archaeological field reports are not exactly riveting reading. But the information and details they contain are what archaeologists use to reconstruct events that occurred at these sites and the relationships between often distant sites.
The field data from the southwest Anderson Plain region of the Northwest Territories has been used to produce a number of overviews on different aspects of the region's past. They are presented here in the language in which they were originally written.
Choose from among the following topics and see how the many bits and pieces of field information were combined to breath life back into long-forgotten stories. Selecting these will bring you to a mirror site on the Canadian Archaeological Association's Web server where the technical papers are located. Those documents are presented in the language they were originally written in. To return to the Canadian Museum of Civilization's Web site, simply use your BACK button.
